Sometimes, a favorite book or book series is found in the most unexpected way. Such is the case with The Circle of magic. It was just a book that I picked up in the store. The summary on the back looked interesting, and I’d read a book by Tamora Peirce before, so I bought it, read it, and was caught up in the world of Emelan. That book was Sandry’s Book, the first book in a quartet called the Circle of Magic. read more…
One of the greatest joys I know is to find a great series of books that catch and keep my interest with each installment. Few book series have caught me quite as thoroughly as the Sword of Truth novels by Terry Goodkind. When the book was given to me by my mother, as a book she thought I would like, the first Sword of Truth novel, Wizard’s First Rule, I was immediately captivated by the colorful story language and believable characters. read more…

Reading is a passion that I have long perused. I have read a great many books and feel quite knowledgeable in their reviewing and discussion. I will be reviewing books I have recently read, even if the books are older books. Some of the best stories I have found, are ones that I was given by a parent or grandparent. The books I read are sometimes influenced by the cultural goings-on I experience and observe. I wish to apologize in advance, if I seem to be prejudiced towards any particular genre of book. For a great long time I have read things that interest me, unless directed to otherwise by a required curriculum. I prefer books in the genre of fantasy, and certain other sub-genres of Fiction. I am not one for realism or nonfiction, because I view books as my personal escape from the pressures of the real world. I understand that my view of books and novels is not the only view, and I welcome criticism, comments, and opinions.
Note: I will also include a few comments about any book-based movie/T.V. series that exist.
